About Y828
The Yokohama Y828 is a robust light truck and commercial van tyre designed to deliver exceptional durability, long tread life and stable handling for demanding everyday use. Engineered for couriers, small delivery vehicles, tradespeople and fleet operators, the Y828 offers reliable all-season performance and excellent value for high-kilometre applications.
At the core of the Y828’s performance is its reinforced commercial-grade tread compound, specifically developed to withstand heavy loads, frequent stop-start driving and constant urban use. This durable rubber formulation resists wear, heat build-up and abrasion, ensuring the tyre maintains strong performance over long distances and extended service life.
The tyre’s symmetric tread pattern is optimised for even wear and consistent traction. Its wide tread blocks provide a stable footprint that enhances handling, braking and cornering stability—an essential feature for vans and light trucks carrying tools, parcels or equipment. The strong centre rib improves straight-line tracking, giving drivers precise control at highway speeds and in city traffic.
The Yokohama Y828 performs confidently in wet conditions thanks to its deep circumferential grooves and lateral channels, which work together to efficiently disperse water and reduce hydroplaning risk. Combined with the tread compound’s dependable wet grip, the tyre ensures secure braking and traction on rain-soaked roads.
Load-carrying performance is another standout strength. The tyre’s reinforced carcass and sidewalls are engineered to support heavier commercial loads while maintaining stability and reducing deformation under pressure. This construction enhances safety, improves handling under load and promotes longer tread life—key benefits for commercial operators.
Despite its heavy-duty design, the Y828 offers a smooth and comfortable ride. The tread pattern is arranged to reduce road noise and vibration, creating a quieter driving experience for those spending long hours behind the wheel.
Durable, stable and built for commercial reliability, the Yokohama Y828 is an excellent choice for businesses and drivers seeking a tough, long-lasting tyre that performs consistently across all seasons and road conditions.
